Default Rear shackle replacement

Hey guys how are we all doing?

Guys I need your help, my rear leaf spring shackle brackets have corroded and broke away leaving the shackles hanging which is both on the rear drivers side!
Do you guys happen to have the part numbers and the cheapest place in Canada to purchase these from?

Also is it a bitch of a job to replace them it looks pretty straight forward apart from getting the old hangers off

Any help would be much appreciated

I got mine from Rockauto. They were about half what the local parts stores wanted. I replaced spring hangers and shackles. I had trouble getting the leaf spring back down into position, even with it jacked-up as high as I could get it. So I used a ratchet strap to pull the leaf spring (shackle attached to it) down the rest of the way where I could get the bolt in. Worked like a charm.

Biggest problem was getting the grinder at one of the top rivets. The leaf spring was in my way. I may have to try something different when I get around to changing the other side. I think I had a thread here somewhere.

Default Brackets

rsboy,
Hopefully you have the truck back on the road by now. Yesterday I replaced a front leafspring hanger. Ground off the rivets with a four inch angle grinder and pounded them through (do not have acetylene). Any way that is the fifth bracket I have replaced on my 96 F150. Both rear shackels and hanger brackets and both radius arm brackets. For what it is worth check all the brackets under your truck, since one let go I bet there are other ones in almost the same shape.

Hey buddy thanks for replying, the truck is back on the road now I replaced the drivers side rear front and rear back shackle brackets and the rear front shackle, the rear was still serviceable so I left that on, the other side looks pretty good last another couple of years for sure

I spoke to the girl that owned the truck before me and she told me how the shackle brackets broke haha! She had a keg in the back with all her girls and they were going pretty fast down a dirt track hit and bump and with all the weight in the back the brackets just give way, all I could say was where was my invitation haha

rs,
Glad to hear you are back on the road. You bought this truck with the bracket already gone? Hopefully this PO (gal) now owes you some compensation. Invite me for her next kegger, I only live in Michigan and I still have more vacation.

Where in Canada? I do have an american passport.
