your not going to find a D60 for less than a grand, and that is for a rough one. you can pick up 78-79 D44 1/2 ton stuff for around 300 bucks. but if you put a D44 up front and a 10.25 in the rear your going to have two diff bolt patterns,

I can convert the Dana 44 to 8 lug and I have found Dana 60s for 800 all the stuff if I find one at a junkyard it will be cheaper that's what I'm waiting on.

If you have the space to store it, sometimes you can buy a complete truck cheaper than a junkyard axle, thats how junkyards make money so watch Craigslist etc and you might get lucky.

yeah man keep an eye out for a worn out f350. I bought a complete truck for 500 bucks lol. also, im sure you seen my thread. its a lot easier to convert a leaf spring axle to coils, then it is a coil spring frame to leafs. going to have to notch and brace the f150 frame, a lot of work, for a lesser ride quality. the only real pro, is the cost. wont have to buy brackets and springs.

you could always look for a bronco and just do a d44 swap, and either do a d44 for the back or a ford 9" so you can keep the 5x5-1/2 bolt pattern. another plus to that is an old bronco comes with a solid front axle, already with the coil springs.

They make a kit that bolts on to the front for the springs and doesnt hurt ride quality also has s front hitch in it too so I'm getting a 60 leaf sprung made my mind up already.
