Default Lifting a 2WD V8 1991 F150 help

Hey guys was needing some guidance and help with this project truck of mine.
I have a 1991 Ext. Cab 2WD F150 with a v8
I wanted to lift it 9" and run 37" tires on the stock 15" rims, would I run into any problems? Is the engine powerful enough to handle that? And would I need to regear? If so where would I do that and how much would it cost. Any help is greatly appreciated! And if you're wondering why I want to lift a 2wd is honestly because I just like the look, I dont go off roading and i'm still in high school just trying to have a nice looking truck. Thanks guys!

lifting a 2WD that high...is going to cost money, and will need to be of decent quality to be safe to drive.

Problems, yes...a whole list of them...your whole front end will need work, from side to side and top to bottom.

Condition of the engine??? 200K miles or 70K? Runs well?? Burns oil?? Transmission and condition.

For driveability you will want to regear and that brings a whole new set of problems. Drive shaft will have to be custom made and balanced..

not a trivial task, but a local shop can easily handle it. Just have your credit card ready.

You may want to sell yours and buy one already completed. These trucks have a way of changing hands - often.

I think you would need gears at that point from a drivability standpoint.

Default Similar build

Hey there buddy, I'm new to the forum. I've got a 90 F150 regular cab 2wd with a 6" suspension lift on 35x12.50's running a 4.9/6 with a 5 speed. Running 3.08's and a traclok rear. The only problem with 35's is clearance near the fenders rear edge on mine. Turning it rubs some but otherwise it's good. I may personally trim it up and reeled the edge to look more factory. You may need more to go with 37's since new 35's are 34 and some change. Good luck with your build.
