Default Leaf spring hanger replacement

So i was looking at my truck this morning after replacing the transfer case and i noticed this.

the one that is completely broke is the drivers side. i was wondering if someone else had replaced the hangers before had any advice or anything. I'm ordering the the shackles and hangars front and rear.

Break out the grinder for the rivets.

I've never done it but I would imagine it is much easier if you drop the rear tank. You might have to.

I know it looks bad in the pics but the rust on the frame is really just surface rust.

I'm hoping I don't. I'm not looking forward to replacing the tank straps right now.

I just wish i had the cash for a lift and tires right now. I was gonna do this work in the spring.

A lift usually doesn't involve spring buckets. That's a touch more than surface rust behind the hanger, shouldn't be a problem though unless you are towning at the limits of the truck. If you're gonna lift this that means you plan to keep it, you should invest in some kind of metal treatment for the rust, and there are salt neutralizers available too
