Default coil spring

I bought a 94 f150 flareside with the 4.9. The truck is hard to handle. New ball joints upper and lower and new tie rod ends. It doesn't have a sway bar. It has a lot of body roll. The springs at the top are compressed together. Is that a good indication they are bad. I appreciate any help. Thank you

Adding a sway bar will help immensely with body roll, but you have to put them in both the front and rear together or it might cause other handling problems. If you do most of your driving on the street, get some sway bars.

As far as springs go, the compression you see at the top might just be aftermarket progressive rate springs. Or they could be really bad factory springs.

Either way, you should be able to find both sway bars and springs at your local junkyard. You might need to get the mounts/links as well.

I wouldn't put JY springs on your truck, you might save some money but suspension parts are one of my no-no's for JY parts. You can get brand new moog springs for under $70 shipped from amazon:
822- F150 OE style spring
824- Has higher compressed height (used to level out the truck) while maintaining factory ride
844- F250 spring, height ~824 but has a stiffer ride.

I put the 824's on mine to level it out and was so impressed at how much better the old girl handled, then a few months ago one of my leafs broke so I replaced them and that was totally night and day on ride quality/handling.

Got my leafs from here: http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/?gclid...FQYoaQodspoOsQ, best price I could find with shipping online.
