Default Bilstein shock selection help

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble finding the right shocks for my truck. The details: 94 F150, XLT 5.8 4x4

I'm looking at getting some Bilsteins. The problem is I don't know what lift I have. Being a 4x4 I've read that it's 2" higher than 4x2. When looking at the part numbers I find there is one for 4" lift and one for 6" lift. Should I just go with the 4"?

There are the two I see at rockauto - don't see an option for the shock mounted in front of the axle with a quad shock setup though.

If I were you I would not buy one for a 4" lift - I wouldn't buy bilstein for that matter they are overpriced and you can get 90% of the ride quality from a kyb or monroe for 30-50% of the price. My $.02.

That's just it, it seems there are at least 3 different 5100 series shocks for 4wd.

If you scroll down a little further they also list 5100's as well and I think the model they list says 6" lift for the front.

I have Motorcraft shocks on it now that are about a year old. You don't think I'd notice a difference going to the Bilsteins?

The 5100's are specifically designed for lifted trucks.

You will notice little to no difference compared to your 1 year old shocks. I'd be looking to spend my $300 on other things. Maybe springs and bushings, or if all else fails booze and women

LOL I like your thinking. So if I did go Bilsteins I'd need the 4600's then I guess. Thanks for your help.
