Default Ball joint installation

So I'm installing my new balljoints on my 4wd steering nuckles and I'm having trouble. The lower balljoint is simple but the lower portion of the upper balljoint platform has an angle to it and I can't get the balljoint press to sit flat. I'm not entirely sure what to do about this. Has anyone done balljoints and how do you address this issue? Thanks for the help.

I remember it being a total PITA. I think I ended up using a chisel or a crowbar as a shim/spacer. The most important thing is to get the joint started straight. Once its in right its got nowhere to go but in.

Good luck.
