im doing my engine swap from a six to an eight but what else do i need to swap i need to check my tranny and see if i have the c6 also what about my rear end, gears, possi, etc
also what would be decent cam set for that engine with basic bolt ons as in headers exhaust intake etc.
I heard a lot of people telling me i had to swap the rear end because it would brake? a
any comments would help

oh and its a Ford 1978 460 7.5

 

you'll need to change the transmission as well... the 460 has a bigger bellhousing bolt pattern... rear should be fine as long as you aren't abusing it....

 

You will also need the frame mounts for the engine sizes, small blocks use a 1 hole mount, a big block uses a 2 hole mount, I am pretty sure the -6 perch is directly on the crossmember.

 

Radiator will probably need replaced ad well.
