Default Tell me about the 85-86 302 V8

Hello I am interested in learning more about the 5.0 302 v8 that was used in f150's in the 1985-1986 model years. I am thinking about getting an 80-86 ford and would like an engine with fuel injection. Am I correct that this is the only engine and year you could get fuel injection in this body style ford? Also is their anything I should know about the reliability of this motor? What years was this same style motor used? I currently have a Chevrolet truck with the 350 and I know with it the same engine design and tbi injection was used from 1987-1995 with very few changes. Just curious if the 302 was the same way.

I had a 79 F250 with the 300 straight six and it was a great truck but im trying to stay away from the constant adjustments with carbs.

Thanks for any info

Option for 302 in 85, standard in 86. Style as in 302 or fuel injected? Once it went fuel injected I don't think it went back to carb ever. Ford used the 302 for a really long time too. Its as reliable as the owner, just like most motors. Take care of it with normal maintenance and it'll go for a well over 200k miles, barring unforseen circumstances and/or sudden failures.
