You'll have no problems with the EFI. After my Explorer swap since it had GT40P heads I pulled the smog pump, and everything connected to it. Plugged the vacuum lines and shoved a piece of tubing in the y-pipe, no problems with a CEL or anything at all. Just used a shorter belt (87.5) but that's on a 302HO. Just take the smog pump off and wrap string around all the pulleys and you'll find your right size.

May I ask why get rid of it though?

Easily. Shorter belt, remove the smog pump and all associated hardware, you will need 5/8 course thread plugs or bolts to block the holes on the back of the heads. That smog pump is an Effin parasite! And when it gets plugged up and you start hammering down it will give the loudest backfire!! Like a shotgun, yeah!!
