Need new engine
I have a 92 flareside with a 5.8 . I am in need of replacement. Shops around town wanted $6000 . I am good with mechanics and could change it out myself . Do you have any recommendations on where to buy a remanufactured engine? Thanks for your time

What exactly is wrong with the original engine? Mine has ~860Kmi without rebuild, and runs like new.

When the truck is warmed up and at an idle, my oil pressure drops to almost zero . Usually around 3 . Just recently started knocking from lower end . Took it to a local mechanic and he said main bearings and recommended a new motor . New oil pump and pickup screen already installed . Oil pressure is measured from a mechanical gauge
