Default The "Issue"

I had a valve in the #6 cylinder shatter at 3,500 miles. The top of the valve where the retainer grove is (I'm not a mechanic... can you tell?!!) ...snapped off and created havoc in the head. Destroying the valve guide, roller and cam shaft.

I was just driving down the road one day, doing about 35mph and the engine died. I tried to restart it and it would reluctantly start, run terrible for about 30 seconds or so and die.
It acted just like a clogged fuel filter but no such luck!

It took Ford 3 months to get a replacement head. The mechanic had it back together in two days and 2000 miles later it's running great!🤞

Yeah, still though they have the motor opened up out in the elements. If I had to do the work at home, sure. A dealership and warranty, one would expect it to be a bit more of a controlled environment, or at least covered up!

It's just funny to see, to me anyway.

Very unprofessional to leave it opened up like that outside where wind blown dust can access the open cylinders. The old head should have been set on the block to cover it temporarily and shop rags or painters tape on the other inlets. Suggest moving your next oil change up a little sooner than you usually do.
