Default 302 smoke and rattle

Alright everyone, quick question. I just resealed my timing cover because of an oil leak. Topped off the oil and went for a drive with no problems. The next day I drove about 4 miles and a slight rattling sound came from the motor so I parked it. I went to drive it home later and it's still making the noise and it's now blowing white smoke from the drivers side cylinders and my oil pressure is low to non existent. Any ideas on what's Wrong? 92 302 146k miles. Any help is appreciated

When you pulled the cover and clean the block to re seal did you stuff rags in the oil pan so grit and old gasket didn't fall into the pan? The only thing that comes to mind is some debris got sucked into the oil system and is blocking passages. Try changing filter and blowing air back thru the pickup.
