Default 1994 Ford with a 1986 engine

Ok so bought this 94 about two months ago and just found out my suspicions were confirmed. I was able to finally connect with the previous owner and sure enough someone prior to him put an 86 5.0 from a crown Victoria. He also told me he attempted to have the intake manifold repaired by someone and they informed him the intake was warped but attempted to use some type of epoxy sealant to correct the issue. Question, should I replace it with an after market or try to find an OEM?

How does it run? If there are no issues leave it alone.

I have been knocking things out to get it to run correctly. They had started the smog delete but left lots of open vacuum lines. I took care of that. It runs like it could use more umph when you mash the accelerator but doesn’t have the power it should.

If its not leaking vacuum or water it shouldn't be causing low power.

I wouldn't mess with aftermarket, no gains without other mods.

Its 80's tech, probably rated at 175 hp or less, in a truck with x.xx gears. It won't compare to anything modern, in stock form, even on its best day.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I figured that however having to push pedal to almost the floor to go up a hill is not going to be norm for me. I’ve had 6cyls before with more power.
