So this is not a picture of my truck but the hose that leads for the air intake to the valve cover i need to know wht it is so i can buy a new one i know it is not the pcv valve because that is on the backside under the intake manifold so what is this thing??

 

Probably you're talking about the PCV breather hose and filter.
PCV hose and valve suck air out of the engine; the breather lets air get pulled in.

 

It is just a hose [breather hose] When the engine is under light load and the PCV valve is drawing more air than than than piston blow by is producing then this allows clean air to be drawn in to the crank case. When the engine is under load and blow by is greater than the PCV valve can handle then the excess pressure passes through hose into intake air stream to be burned.
