Not sure if this is the right thread but I have a question about doing a trans swap in a 94 f150. I have the mazda trans which was bad when we got the truck, and I can't find another one for less than $550 around here and a rebuild is $1600. However I can find a ZF for $250.

Are these transmissions easily interchangeable or would I need to change the driveshaft, mounts, etc?

Also, would the ZF get a lot worse mpg?
