Default More Power?

Pretty new to the 4.9 300 engine...Is there any aftermarket parts for it?....What's the best way to get a little more power out of these trucks?...Thanks for any help

Best thing I have 'read' was adding electric fans to release horsepower from our straight 6's.

jacking up the fuel pressure helps on the 4.9

Don't expect performance out of your 4.9. It was built for longevity and work not to be a speed demon.

Does yours have a carburetor or fuel injection?

There are combos that can produce significantly more torque/horsepower- But the 300-6's strong suit is TORQUE. Build to that and you can't go wrong.

The Offy 6019DP intake with a small 4bbl (Carter 9400 AFB if you can find one) and headers to start. The split manifolds off of a EFI 4.9 might also work with this intake (?). Keep your cam selection mild for producing max torque (Crane H-260-2). I've seen this combo in a LWB E350 that towed a HUGE boat seemingly effortlessly, with an improvement in fuel economy.

My '92 4.9 is fuel injected with the dual exhaust manifolds and I'm looking for answers for that. I bought the truck, partially based on my experience with the aforementioned van.
