So I own a 1992 gen 9 f150 2 wheel drive with a m5r2 4 speed with overdrive and I have always been disappointed I do not have 4x4. I recently found a gen 8 f150 4x4 front and rear axle, transfer case, and 4 speed tranny. Can I swap this? I have the mechanical inclination to do it I just need to know if it will all bolt up

 

Both trucks use basically the same frame (92 will have crumple zones at the front) and the same cab, so yes pretty much a swap over.
There may be a few issues like driveshaft lengths and linkage, speedometer (possibly), VSS, etc., but it does physically fit.
Just hang on to the donor truck till after the job is complete.
