Default Engine problems with a 92 Inline 6

I have a 92 f150 straight six, 5 speed manual, standard cab with 220,000 miles. I have replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, air filter, O2 sensor, breather filter, PCV valve, fuel filter, forward fuel tank and pump. I have tested IGN control module, IGN coil, EGR position sensor, and AIC valve all tested good. I have found no vacuum leak and vacuum pressure is within limits. When it is cold it doesn’t want to start or it will start then stall out it will do this a few time before it will stay running when it stays running It will run smooth but at a high idle even when it warms up it stays around 1000 rpm. When I driving down the road I will get intermittent rough running and rough acceleration.

Have you tried pulling codes?

Doesn't have to be on for codes to exist.

1. Check for vacuum leaks, 2. check fuel psi and after shut off that it holds. 3. Get a new map.

Found vac leak on the IAC valve fixed that. runs great idles at 700ish rpm when it cold, when it warms up it runs a little rough idles at 1000 to 1200 rpm and on acceleration it will somtimes hesitates and is a little jumpy or bogs down. Replaced the map sensor there was no change.

Found the main problem the TB gasket was bad replaced it and cleaned the TB. The hesitation and sputtering is gone but when temp needle gets into normal it idles high and has a slow fluctuates between 1100 and 1400 rpm.
I had an 88 mustang and if you unplug the all the sensor the engine should idle perfectly if it didn’t then you know you had a mec problem, ign problem or a vac leak can the same be done with the 4.9l

Theoretically, yes... but i think ur truck has a smarter computer than ur mustang, it may not let it turn on at all. have you checked ur wires to make sure none have rotted? Are any taped together like someone worked on the electrical before you? Have you done any resistance checks on wires going to ur sensors to see if they are going bad?

found the egr valve was bad replaced that it still idles high but now when I give it a little gas it will idle down to 1000 rpm, it will hold for about 10-20 seconds the slowly rise to 1400 rpm
