I RECENTLY UNPLUGGED MY TRAILERING CONNECTOR UNDER MY TRUCK AND RECONNECTED IT WITH CURT 55384 Replacement Vehicle-Side Custom USCAR 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness. I DID THIS SO I COULD PLUG MY PUTCO TAILGATE LIGHT SWITCH IN FROM UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK AND NOT PLUGGING IN FROM THE BUMPER. I NOW HAVE A WARNING COMING ON IN MY TRUCK TELLING ME THE TRAILER IS DISCONNECTED, THEN IT COMES ON AGAIN AND TELLS ME IT IS CONNECTED. IT CONTINUES TO REPEAT ITSELF DEPENDING ON MY SPEED. WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM?

 

I know on my 2016 which I believe is the same as your 19. My truck didn’t like when I plugged in my opt7 light bar to the trailer plug. I ended up running wiring from both taillights to an added truck side 4 flat connector and plugged the bar into that. Truck is happy and the light bar works correctly.
