Default Wiring Help/Question?

I purchased a strip of 5050 High Intensity strip LED lights too install in the bed of my truck. I purchased an LED Rocker Switch and will look to do the install this weekend.

My question? Do you gents recommend I run the power from the trailer harness or from the brake light? Would I need to run a fuse since I'm not pulling the power direct from the battery?

Thanks,

I ran mine all the way to the battery, and fused it there. I have a switch underneath the bed rail so I can turn it on when I need it.

Is it better to run it to the battery over the trailer harness? I'm cool either way, but if there is a benefit to running it to the battery even better.

Thoughts?
