Why do off road vehicals only face their lights forward?

Dodge+Ford = always ready
i have 4 facing straight forward, 2 of them somewhat lower hitting the ground about 30ft out, and then 2 more hitting the ground around 150-300ft out. then i got 2 on my headache rack facing off to either side of the truck at a slight angle so i can see either ditch, and when the weather picks up a bit im putting 2 facing backwards mounted to my headache rack so i can use them as backup lights when needed.
i almost never use them on the main roads, sometimes i use the lights to see in the ditches when its late out. the backup lights i use almost every time i get the chance. didn't think they would be that useful to be honest lol.

Saw a truck the other day, with lights mounted underneath the frame, a little ways back from the firewall, pointing diagonally back and out. Never thought I'd ever needed light in a blindspot but alright. haha

My buddy did something similar with his 2500HD-
LightBar on the roof with 4 KC's- the middle 2 are facing straight out for long distance, the outer 2 are about 45 degrees.
2 KC's on the front bumper
2 PIAA's behind the grille
2 Fog Lights
2 HID's as replacement for factory lights
2 rear PIAA's on the sides of the bed.
he's got this bumper that has lights mounted inside of it too.
and a ridiculous police swivel light on the drivers side..
I have no clue why he's obsessed with lights, but when we go off-roading at night I always follow behind him. hahaha

Just call me sean. Really
That's crazy! I have HID headlights, 55watt off road lights on the back bumper for reverse/aux/tail gate beaters, and soon I'll have a pair of 7" 100 watt lights on the front, and I won't need any more haha

Baja trucks are going so fast they only care about what is in front of them.
Check out this type of system, looks cool.
