Default Tailgate light bar recognized as trailer

Just got my new 2015 xlt sport last week and love it! I have a tailgate light bar that I had on my previous 2012 xlt and looking to put it on my new 2015. Is there a way to hard wire it in so that one is not taking up one of the trailer connections already on the truck itself and not have the light bar register as a trailer being hooked up?

Could just get a trailer connector splitter to run 2 plugs off the connector

I would think just run a ground wire and tap into your running light wire?

Pretty sure the light bar is split so it mimics the brake/turns/tails. I've even seen some that go white with reverse lights.

So all you'd have to do is hard wire to the tail lights and run a ground. Just make sure there isn't too much draw that you're adding to the existing circuit and you're good to go.
