Default Tail Light Swap

So I have been looking to swap out my tail light assembles. Not so much worried about fancy sequential HID or LED or whatever kind of blinky bright light. I just want a simple plug and play tail light. For the simple reason of blacking out that GIGANTIC RED monstrosity of a stock tail light on my black F150. Any suggestions?

Thanks for replying, how do you like them? How was the install as far as wiring? (I currently have halogens, I think for me they would be plug and play.) I have read a few posts, threads, and reviews of issues with start up sequencing and on/off issues. I take it they have been reliable thus far?

They are plug-n-play. They are finicky in regards to start up. I wrote up a response in a previous thread. If the issues do come up, I've found that turning the lights completely off, then toggling slowly to fully on and back to auto corrects the issue. There's not much out on the market for aftermarket halogen replacements but these suit what I like and how sicke they look on my truck.

I bought a set of Alpharex tails and they are not working correctly. I am losing tail light and turn function. If I turn the selector inside truck, the lights flash yellow and go back off.
I read that Forscan only works up to thr 2022 model? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I had a nightmare of a time upgrading my 2023 Halogen's with the AlphaRex LUXX series taillights. Installed and removed 5 times, because they would just completely cut out after 10 minutes of driving. Finally, the AphaRex tech informed me that they are having issues getting these taillights to work on 2023's. I'm waiting for a return label to send them back.

I purchased a set of Morimoto XB LED taillights. They were purchased, installed and working 100% in 3 days.
I wish I went with them first!

Your experience may vary!
I hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply! I ended up going through the same process and sending mine back. Going to order the Morimoto XB's as well.

Not a problem, I really liked the look of the LUXX taillights in the Alpha Black. Especially enjoyed the 'startup/unlock dance'.
But battled far too long trying to get them to stay on!

Here are a couple of pictures of my truck with the Morimoto XB's.
I hope this helps!

p.s. I didn't blow a head gasket, cold startup on a cold and rainy day! LOL
