Default Tail lighs needed

The rear of my 2017 F-150 Lariat Crew Cab 3.5L V6EchoBoost 4wd was damaged in an accident months ago. It has been in a body shop awaiting taillights. The body shop tells me they cannot get the taillights with an obstacle detector. I find plenty of taillights for sale online, but nothing talks about them having an obstacle detector in the tai light. Where can I find such a tail light?

It's called a blind spot monitor.

Your factory tail lights have BLIS then. See if the body shop can take the module out (the BLIS module). If only the plastic on the brake light was broken then you can move the BLIS modules to new taillights such as the Morimoto XB Tail Lights. We sell them on our site.

They re-use the factory BLIS module which keeps your radar functionality. NO aftermarket tail light includes the BLIS module, you ALWAYS have to re-use your factory one (or buy a new Ford module).

Not all tail lights support the BLIS module either. Morimoto does and Recon does (we sell both on our website)

Sounds like you're in a bit of a pickle with those tail lights! The obstacle detector you're referring to is likely the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). It's integrated into your tail lights to monitor blind spots. While aftermarket tail lights won't include the BLIS module, options like Morimoto XB or Recon might work. They let you transfer your existing BLIS module, maintaining radar functionality. Just ensure the replacement lights support the BLIS module.
