I have recently got a 2018 f150 xl a the interior lights doesn't seem to turn after opening the door even after I push the door icon off an on. It only turns on when I push the light button. I have tried resetting bms still no luck.

 

I know its been almost a year with no response... but did your truck come with leds? What style light does your truck have? My 2019 with the basic front map light, I installed f150 led replacement. It does not work until I press the button for each side of the truck and my rear light does not come on anymore.

 

Welcome to the forum. Is your overhead light just the single basic light and button to turn it on only right? My XL is the same, basic just a light and switch on each side. No console up there. Does it come on if you open the passenger door first? Try that.
