install puddle lights
I have a 2018 Ford F150 SXT. it had regular mirrors with an 8 pin connector. I bought after market towing mirrors with 22 pin. They came with a 8 pin to 22 pin connector as well as 4 additional wires from the 22 pin connector. These mirrors have running lights and turn signals as well as puddle lights. I have found youtube videos on wiring the running lights. the turn signals already work. Does anyone know how to wire the puddle lights in to the junction at the door? or would they need to be wired in to a power source? If anyone has a video of installing towable mirror puddle lights, i would appreciate it.
I have the 2013 STX and I added turn signal and puddle lights. A member here did a write up on it. Point being is the power wires were in my door harness plug already. I just added the lights and wires to the mirrors. I would pull the door panel and take a look.

Ok so, I reviewed the electrical drawing and in theory what I will try may work. What I am doing is activating the puddle light function in the DDM/PDM. These are the door modules and I did this with forscan. Pin10 of the 20 pin connector found the the DDM/PDM is for the puddle light. By activating, I now have 12 volts at pin 10 when dome lights come on, unlocking and locking doors. I have connected a wire to pin 10 and will run it to the puddle light connector. This is pin 14 of the 22 pin connector of the tow mirror. So when I install my tow mirrors, I will connect.
Now pin 15 is for the spot light. What I plan to do here is run straight 12 v through an on/off switch to activate. This switch will turn the spot light off and on.
Hope this help and I let you know how it works out.
I am currently working on my truck to do this. My mirrors will arrive tomorrow., so hopefully what I have pre-stage works.

Did you insert a pin into slot 10? I’m attempting this and trying to confirm if it’s TE Part Number 1924955-3.
