Headlight Install Battery Drain
Evening,
I need some help. I recently installed some new OEM headlights, the smoked edition for the XLT. I had the Anzo switchbacks before hand. They were spliced in. I removed the splices, wrapped everything up. Now, one main connector on the new headlights, it was very difficult to plug it in. It required 'brute force'.
This morning, i drove my truck for 5 mins to a shop, nothing out of the ordinary. 5 mins after, my truck didnt turn on. I got a jump, took the battery to Autozone which they said the battery was good, just a tad low. Well after 45 mins, I tried turning the truck on, the battery is draining. The lights weren't on at all, never had an issue before.
I took the new headlights out, and replaced em with my Anzos to see if it was the alternator. the truck turned on fine after about an hour.
Bad headlights? Alternator randomly died at the same time? Why battery drain when the truck is off?
