Default H3 bulbs

Hi everybody. I bought those lights on ebay. I know most of you think thats waste of money... Spec d, smoke headlights and taillights. Four of those for 190$. Maybe you right it is waste of money..But damage is already done. They look really good though. The problem is they don't do what they should do... Low beam has H3 bulb 55w. It is reallllllly weak. Nothing compare to original if it comes to brightness. What should I do? Please don't say " Throw them to the garbage" Im stock with H3 type bulb, right? But maybe other brand or more wattage? < or more watts is not good idea, I don't want melt it> Please let me know? Thanks.

Get a better H3 bulb and maybe consider adding some auxiliary driving lights if you're set on keeping those headlights.

you could go the route of H3 HID bulb but know that over time, it will probably mess up your housing like cause the interior to start flaking thus reducing the "reflective" properties. The H3 bulb is an old antiquated bulb

There's nothing wrong with H1 and H3 bulbs, they're just undersized for primary lighting on a full size truck. Some newer midsize and economy cars come with those bulbs from the factory.

I agree with you; dont dispute your facts. H1 is nothing more than a revamped H3 and was just saying H3 was designed many years ago primarily as an auxillary/fog light bulb because of its traverse filament. At 12v it only emits around 850-1000lm. It comes down to people not using the bulb for the correct purpose. Why someone would want to put a bulb like that, into a housing for a truck is beyond me.

Yep, completely agree. I read too much into your post and thought you were trying to say that those bulb types shouldn't be used anymore for ANY application. My bad.
