Default Diode Dynamics or Retro Solutions?

I want to order some LED reverse lights, plate lights and interior lights. Which company offers a better product? Thanks

I don't have any experience with Retro Solutions, but I'm happy with the exterior bulbs I ordered from Diode Dynamics. I am pleased with the output quality and color (and my customer service/sales experience with Phillip too). I notice the red XP80’s are considerably brighter than my factory stock tail lamps in running/parking light mode (simulated single filament mode), but they are only the same brightness in braking/turn signal mode (simulated dual filament). I was hoping for additional brightness over stock, but I’m at least glad I didn’t give up any brightness going LED. I guess the downside of the brighter parking light is that the difference and contrast between braking and not braking is reduced because the brightness between both modes is now closer than before.

I have 3157 HP11 Red LED bulbs from Diode Dynamics in my tail light retrofit and they are excellent. Look well built and a very bright with what I think is a really good difference in park and stop brightness.

I'd say the HP11 or XP80 would be a great choice for anywhere on your car but the regular SMD ones I'd probably stick in the interior or for marker lights only. Solid company with good products.

I just stopped in Autozone quick after realizing one of my plates lights is out, and the LED bulbs I picked up are too big to fit in the license plate bulb housings -_- Guess I'll return them in the AM and order some

I think I'm gonna get their reverse lights. I can barely see in my mirrors with the windows down

Do keep in mind that replacing your reverse lights with LEDs will be an upgrade but it won't make it great due to the reverse light position and design for our trucks is terrible to put it simple. I've tried many different bulbs in the stock position and while it's an improvement, it yields the same result of being minor one.

As many members of this forum have said when I was looking for answers to the same question, an aftermarket lighting upgrade positioned near the bumper would better suit your needs.
