Default "Budget" HID Projectors

I've been looking around and doing a bit of research on trying to get a set of projector headlights with HID's for my '12. I've seen aftermarket headlamps for $300, no HID's, $800-900 for retros and upwards to $1600 for the new stock '13's. Am I the only one that thinks $1600 is a bit ridiculous for headlights?

I'm looking to do a HID setup with projector headlights for roughly $500. That doesn't sound too unreasonable to me. Am I just crazy, or can this be done?

You could do it for that if you tackle a retrofit yourself. You can get a complete kit with morimoto mini for pretty cheap from TRS. They are the easiest to retrofit and would be your best bet.

the ebay "projector" lights are 99% of the time complete junk. they are nothing like a true retrofit and you can tell by the price difference.

remember you get what you pay for. people wouldnt be paying 800-900 for a retro if there was a better way for less

I think $800,-$900, $1600 is alot also.,
I never would have thought I would consider it
But then watching the threads and seeing the pics.
I have concidered them and was willing to pull the trigger
(Theres NO-WAY in hell my better half would have ever known about it)
I think $$ wise these are worth it ,the dealbreaker for me was its a 2-3month wait list

My new stock headlights were 950. You can find a better deal than 1600.

I have ebay ones that have 35W HID kits wired to the lows and highs that I'll give you for $250. Only reason I took them out was because my better half didnt like the look/time it took the HID's to fully illuminate when we turned the Highs on.

i was referring to the light output and blinding oncoming traffic. might as well run a drop in kit.

I bought a set of the projectors by Spyder from ebay and HIDs from HIDnation.com and haven't had any problems.

I had some spyder headlights with the projectors as hids and was not happy with the output of the projector, the cutoff was jagged and light was scattered. Sent them back and will be doing a retrofit soon. You can save money by doing it yourself. Just take your time and don't rush. Also so a lot of research
