Blacked out my tail lights
#4
Took them off, of course, wet sanded them with 2000 grit until they were nice as scuffed up then washed them off with soap and water, then just hit them with 4-5 coats of VHT nite-shades, waiting 10 minutes in between coats. Once that dried I wet sanded again with 2000 grit until al defects were out, washed them off and put 5 coats of clear on them. Once that dried, I wet sanded the clear coat with 2000 grit then buffed them with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound.

I also hit my front and rear oval emblem using the same process but only 2 very light coats of nite-shades. It turns the blue to a smoke black color and u can still the chrome ford inlay through it, I looks sweet! I'll post pics later

Just for appearance... Looks better on my black truck than the red lights! And u can still see my lights perfectly fine, and they're pretty dark! So if u can't see someone's lights, they must have used black paint or plastidip and got way too much, lol...

Very nice did a good job, I may just do this instead of buying new lights.
Did you do the third light as well?.
And how did you take off/re install the rear emblem on your tail gate? I like the black look rather the the blue, my truck is black also haha.
