Purchase the switch and wire harness from Ford parts...and the lights also I suppose...if you want a "factory" look. Meaning find these parts referencing a model with the factory installation.

My previous truck was a 2019 and I had a folding bed cover. I bough a kit from ebay for about $30.00, included 2 - 60" led strips, some of the wiring a fuse block and a push-button switch. I bought more wire, wire loom, some connectors and heat shrink, total for everything was probably $75.00 and I have a bunch of connectors and heat shrink leftover.

I do not have any photos.

I attached the lights to the underside of my bed cover rails, the strips are provided with 2 sided tape on them. I wired the lights directly to my battery, with the fuse block at the battery, ran the wire along the top of the frame enclosed in the wire loom.. I placed the switch inside the bed on the driver side at the back, just inside the boxed out section and up high out of the way, there was already a hole there for wire access.

I had the lights installed for almost 5 years and they worked great, very bright and they use very little power.

thanks. I think I’ll go that route. Seems simple and clean. The only negative i see with hooking it to the cargo light is that all the interior lights also go on with the cargo light.

You could add something from f150leds.com. I’ve never used there kit but it looks pretty easy to install.
