I have one similar on one of my company trucks. Which is a duramax. If you use your cargo light for the bed of the truck at all, don't expect a lot of light from the cargo light portion of it. Since this one is smoked. The brake light itself is nice and bright. But the cargo lighting IMO is worthless. Fit and finish is great, plugs and plays with no issues.I have tried it with my tonneau covers on or off, it doesn't matter. If you go that route and if you need more lighting in the bed area, check out the b-light from truxedo, extang also has one, that's call b-lighting. It hides underneath the bed-rails. I have done a couple of them and wired them into the cargo light switch. So it looks factory and functions like factory.
