2016 tow mirror replacement advice needed.
I have a 2016 XLT with tow mirrors that have the forward light/signal and puddle lamps in them. The right/passenger side mirror has a crack/hole in the housing and the power mirror does not work in that one but all the lights do and I'd like to replace it with one that works. The problem is that I priced one at a Ford dealership and WOW, their OEM mirror price is insane! They wanted a grand for just the one mirror.
I was shocked to say the least. I see aftermarket sets of tow mirrors with the correct lighting, including the puddle lights for anywhere from $200 to $500 for a complete set of both sides but I'm sure you get what you pay for in most cases, so my question is what aftermarket brand would be a higher quality mirror for a reasonable price. I see a lot of reviews on some of the cheaper ones that say the mirrors shake and I definitely don't want that.
I may see if I can find one that works at a salvage yard if nothing else. I would like to have an original OEM replacement, but there's no way in hell I'm spending a grand on one mirror. Ford can KMA with that kind of rip-off pricing.

You will likely regret aftermarket, find a used set in the classifieds here or as you mentioned hit up the salvage yards. www.car-part.com lets you search salvage lots.
I have an aftermarket set of towing mirrors on my Chevy Suburban that I bought off of eBay, and I can definitely say you get what you pay for, Anything above 50mph, and my mirrors shake pretty violently. I have heard great things about the quality of BoostAutoParts aftermarket mirrors, I can't speak much in the Ford world about quality and features, But in the Chevy world, they are pretty much the best of the best when it comes to aftermarket towing mirrors. They give you plenty of options to make the lights yours as well such as offering the caps in Chrome, Black, and Unpainted so you can have it color-matched, You can get the light on the back either smoked or clear lense as well as getting it in a switchback form which will give you white running lights and an amber turn signal, And they also offer the defrost on the lower glass aswell as the top(not sure if Ford has this option from the factory but Chevy did not.). It might be worth looking into if you're looking to get some new mirrors.
