Default Yard of loam in the bed.

Believe my payload is around 1675lbs in my 2016 Lariat. Need a yard of loam. Planning on tarping the box and having them dump a yard in. It's about a four mile drive round trip to get the loam back to the house. Should be able to haul a yard of soil in the short bed right? It will probably be a mixture of wet/dry as its been raining here off and on.

I now rent a small uhaul trailer to do this. Thats a heavy load especially when wet. While I use to do a yard of mulch in the bed, its a load. I now just rent a trailer for 20 bucks and put the load on it.

True. Just trying to not have to pay the $30 delivery fee. I could rent a trailer but then might as well have them deliver at that point.

Here where I am, delivery is 60 bucks minimum 4 yards. With the trailer, I dont have a large sum dumped in my driveway and have to wheel barrel around or block the drive!

Yep, tough decisions!

A yard of dry topsoil can weigh up to 2000lbs. Wet it will weigh much more.

Pay the $30.

Is two trips out of the question? Two miles away is close. Worst part of that option is you probably have to clean up a bit before going for the 2nd load.
At least it gives you a break after unloading the first, and spreading it where you wanted it.

Bonus: you get to 'use' your truck twice in a day!

What would get scratched with them dumping it into the bed?

Could definitely make two trips with a half yard each time.

Not everything goes in the truck, when I have had mine loaded before.

Good luck!

I would just pay the $30 delivery fee and avoid potential damage to my truck. Just my 2¢.
