x2, but make sure it has the towing package. If the tow package for the 3.7 is like the 5.0 & EB, then it will have the factory receiver hitch, and factory 7 way plug. This package also gets you a trans cooler and (I believe) an upgraded radiator. I think all the F150s in that year have the select shift with tow/haul mode, so that doesn't necessarily mean it has a tow package.

As for operating the tow/haul mode, press the button on the very end of the shift stalk to enable (or disable) tow/haul mode. This will change the shift (and I believe torque converter) strategies. Press the (-) button on the stalk will display all 6 gears and indicate which gear you are in. Pressing the (-) again will disable (or "lock out") 6th gear so the trans won't shift past 5th. Each time you press the (-) will lock out the next lower gear. Pressing the (+) will enable the next higher gear.

You can also put the trans in manual mode (M). Then you shift gears up and down the the (+) and (-) as you please.
