Default Brake Controller

I have a 2016 that I would like to install the Ford Factory brake controller. I know many people have had numerous issues with having controllers put on, whether it be the controller or something else. I believe there have been a few versions of the controller or different date codes, was there ever a part number for the most up to date, least amount of problems controller? I know they seem rather simple to install, but would it be worth it to pay the little extra money to have the dealer do it while still under warranty so if there is a problem I can keep going back to them?

Thank you
Garrett

All you need is the part corresponding with your VIN#, then a laptop and Forscan. Takes 5 mins to install.

An a compatible bluetooth OBD adapter. I know my OBDLink LX works on my 2014 but did not work on a friends 2016 trying to do exactly this.

The subject of this thread was more of what I was looking for, and it seems there is a newest part to get.
Thank you

I guess the point was that you will need to go to the dealer anyways to have it activated in the IPC module to get it to actually function. You either need to install and activate it yourself via ForScan or you need to go to the dealer to get it activated.
