Default What exactly is needed to make oem trailer mirrors function?

I have a 2018 XLT super cab with all available options( except trailer mirrors) for that particular sub model. Looking to add oem trailer mirrors and would prefer to order the parts and install myself without going to my dealer service department to have it done. Does anyone know exactly what harnesses are needed to replace standard XLT mirrors( heated, power glass, ambient air temp sensor, not power fold) with oem trailer mirrors? Will I need to order new control panel as well for drivers door to adjust trailer mirrors? Looking back now I should have had the dealer add the mirrors before I bought the truck, but got such an unbelievable deal that at the time I wanted to get off the lot before they changed their mind🤑. I want this done right the first time, so I don’t mind spending the money for Ford oem parts and would be willing to let my dealer do it if that’s necessary. Any thoughts/suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If all you're looking to do is go from regular mirrors to tow mirrors without adding new functions it should be a direct swap. I would start by confirming the pin count at the connector for the mirror, its under the triangle shaped plastic cover on he inside of the truck where the mirror mounts to the door, it will be an 8 pin or 22 pin connection. Once you know that find a Ford parts website and start looking for tow mirrors that have the same functions and connector as your regular mirrors and those will be the ones you need. At that point it should be plug and play.

If the tow mirrors have the same features as you originals, they are plug and play. Simple swap with no connector or wiring changes.

Pull the cover off...if yours are heated it'll work the same
