Default Gooseneck hitch placement

Hey there, I’m looking at two hitches, the turnover by b&w and the flipover by pop up. The turnover measurement is 45 1/8” while the flipover is 47 1/8”. Does those two inches make a difference? I like popups design but b&w is kinda the standard. Anyone have experience with Popup towing products?

The pop-up looks like a good product. That being said, I went with the B&W due to reputation and years in production. One happy surprise with the B&W is the 45-1/8" puts the hole center exactly where dimple is for the factory installed hitch (this was on the '11/350). The 2" won't make any difference in towing/handling.

I don't know what the 45 1/8" and 47 1/8" refers to. Distance from the back of the cab? Distance from the rear of the bed floor?

When installed, the center of the ball should be at least 2" in front of the center of the rear axle. If both hitches meet that requirement, then I'd probably go with the B&W just because of the B&W reputation.

I occasionally need a 5er hitch or a gooseneck hitch, as well as frequent need of WD hitches. So for the 5er I use a Reese 5er hitch with (industry standard) above-bed rails. Then I use a Reese "The Goose" gooseneck ball that plugs into the Reese bed rails.

The measurements are from the rear of the truck bed. My truck has 5.5’ bed. The main reason for the hitch is not for long or heavy towing just to move a trailer when I need to.
