Default WDH issue

My hitch is only about a year old. It looks like there was some movement pulling backwards? Is anyone familiar with these hitches? The bolts are still tight, I believe they are the locking ones as well. Just wondering if I should be concerned?

Thanks

Jeremy

Reset it and get new grade 8 bolts. That only happens if the bolts weren't torqued properly, and they do require a lot of torque.

Reset it? Do you mean push it so the washers are tight against the square bar?

Check the instructions for the hitch for a bolt at the bottom of the head that may need to be tightened. This may require loosening the large bolts on the head first.

Yes I found a lower bolt that was loose. Manual says it should have a locking nut but it doesn't. Dealer installed hitch when we bought the trailer so will see what they say.

Thanks

Yes, get a new set of grade 8 bolts with locking nuts, the kind with the plastic inserts, then remove the old bolts, put the head back in the proper position and torque the new bolts to specs and never worry about them again. I had to do this with that exact same hitch. Don't trust that the factory bolts will be good once they are torqued as they may have stretched. Since the head moved, that is another reason I would replace the bolts.

Yes tighten that "set screw." It should be monitored periodically.
