Default Using tow plug for running lights, problems

On my 2018 f150 Lariat, im using smaller tow connector for side step running lights and tailgate running lights. Now it shows im towing, and have no blind spot monitoring or parkung aid. Can i turn this off??? I had no problem on my 2006 larriat. Thank you

No, you cannot turn it off. Discussed often. You can either properly wire the lights into the taillight or run separate wires. You can't plug it in to the trailer connection as you've discovered, and cannot tap into the trailer wiring on the other side of the plug either.
