Default Upgrading camper tires

The stock tires on my 2019 Starcraft 27BHU are a 205/75R14 but they are only 2 ply. I decided to upgrade. My local Mavis has the Goodyear Endurance for $89 a piece installed.

However, I found Grand Ride trailer tires highly rated on Amazon and are a bit cheaper while still offering the same 8ply radial construction and a higher weight limit
Amazon Amazon

Which would you choose? The Goodyear’s are about $100 more installed. I hate the Goodyear’s on my F150.

Go to rv.net and look around there for those other brands and to find out more on the Goodyear. Trailer tires can be hit and miss, AKA China Bombs.

Personally, upgrade to a 16" rim and put some LT tires on it, if you have the room. You'll probably sell the trailer before the tires wear out. Almost all ST tires are junk these days, especially if you use them close to their weight capacity and drive 70+.

Which ones are made in China? As far as I know the Endurance is the only US made trailer tire.

Pretty much all of them except the Endurance.

Anyone who is bored with nothing to do, google China Bombs. Sit back and enjoy!

Here is a video on ST vs LT.

I am in the market for trailer tires also, all the research i have done so far says to go with the Goodyear Endurance, the rest are china bombs! Or you go with a 16'' like mentioned above and use a truck tire.
The size i need are 225/75/15 and are $189 per tire, which is a bit much but Canada EH.

You do realize that ST tires are generally rated for 65mph right? Running them at 70+ MPH is using them beyond their intended capabilities and purpose. This is a classic example of a "junk product" when OPERATOR ERROR is the culprit!

Maxxis M8008's are really good tires as well and you can get the 205/75r14 in a D rating. They are right up there with Goodyear Endurance and about the same price.

Ours came with Good Year Marathons and will change them out to GYE (Endurance) once I lift my TT up hopfully sometime this year. There's a lot of good ones out there, just do your research and as clarkbre has hit the nail on the head, ST are not made to go over 65. What's the rush any ways? It's not a race, but an adventure to your destination, safe travels everyone!

Most load c or d radial st tires are rated to 75mph at their listed cold psi. Do more research next time.

To clarify. Cheap China bomb ST tires are rated to 65mph. ST does not mean a rating of 65mph. The Goodyears are rated to 87.
