It's an easy swap if you buy a pre programmed one, though, and having both water and transmission temps always displayed makes me feel warm and fuzzy (and allows for using the center screen for a different data set). YMMV, of course.

Max Tow is a different story.
Seeing as you have the 2017 with the 10 speed, I wouldnt worry at all about the rear end gears. You've got such tight spacing on that transmission that you will hardly notice.

Max Tow isnt so cool anymore. It used to increase the GVWR by 350 lbs but now the only big benefit you get is the uprated hitch with higher tongue weight. Since you are missing the hitch anyways, you could probably just get the max tow version.
