Question Tranny Temp guage

I have a 2018 F 150 5.0 L, is there a way to see tranny temps? Is there a digital gauge ?
What is a good temp to run at while towing?
Thanks
Ed

If you have the digital dash, would be in the truck mode screen, I believe flipping from turbo to trans will show them. Forescan can also enable the temps to be shown above the temp gauge as well.

Yes, The 8 inch digital dash allows the temp display. Only temp with the 5.0, on the Eco boost you can toggle between trans temp and turbo boost. Was one of the reasons I upgraded my 4 inch XLT cluster to the bigger screen.

If you don't have the 8" display, trans temp is in display mode, just flip through the screens (speedo, tire pressure, tranny temp, etc).

195ºF is where the thermostat in the transmission opens up to let oil cycle through the radiator. Mine moves between that and 210ºF - ish in normal driving. I believe the fluid is aok until you get up towards 230ºF.

So, the trans line that runs to the radiator on non tow-package trucks, can I just add an aftermarket cooler in that loop? I’ve got the 5.0, so I on fabbing a bracket for the lower grille area.

You absolutely can.

OEM radiators are cheap enough, might look into that.

Thats Creepy!
I had to go back and look at my subject line to understand..... Then it hit me...... Lol

I have not had a chance to try and figure out how to work the digital dash , I guess I am going to have to read the manual sooner then later.
Thanks
Ed

Button group on the left of the steering wheel controls the dash, you don't really need to read the manual, just start flipping through it. Hit the left button to get to the menu list, scroll up and down, explore!
