Default Trailer wiring

I have a 2023 F 150 and I'm trying to wire my trailer im haveing no luck i plug into the truck and have stripped all the wires since I have a boat trailer I only need Ground, Lefty, right, tail lights. I am not hooked to the trailer but when I pull up and plug in I connected the ground wire and tasil Lights Turn on my headlights and nothing on the trailer no lights. I connect wire by wire. What am I missing?

Hard to say. Are you using the 4 pin or 7 pin connector on the truck? Take some pics and post them.

I recall that some F150s built during the whole COVID fiasco were sent out of the factory missing some critical relays and fuse connectors in the main box due to part shortages. No clue if yours is one of those but it's close to the same time frame. Good luck!

Well its a 2023 which is still past the worst of Covid, but still in the recovery phase.

Did the Window sticker show factory fitted trailer set up including Brake controller? Is your engine running when testing the lights?

You probably have a bad ground. Check ground on trailer. Since its a boat trailer it could easily be rusty. Also since its a boat trailer, its just going to be 4 wire.
