Default Trailer TPMS sensors

Curious, I installed the below linked tpms on my travel trailer, very pleased with the performance. So do I leave the sensors on the wheels throughout the trailer season, roughly 5 months, 6 trips. or do I remove after each trip?

I leave mine on. They go to sleep when the tires aren't spinning, I think. I have the same sensors. Pick up a set of replacement button batteries to keep in the trailer's tool kit.

The only down-side to leaving them on is they do depress the stem valve when installed, so if they're not airtight, you could lose pressure earlier. But that hasn't seemed to be an issue for me. Besides, that way you'll see the pressure on the display. You're checking your tire pressure before each trip, anyway, right?

I typically check before each trip, I was thinking if I left these on, maybe not? Taking them on and off will certainly make me drag the air hose out (lose a bit of air each cycle). If I decide to do that, I might as well take the sensors off and put regular caps on during idle time.

I personally remove them and take out the batteries when not in use. I also unclip the positive for the signal booster.

I have a TireMinder kit and find the batteries last much longer when removed, plus you’re keeping pressure on the schrader valve all the time if you never take them off.

I have the Tymate also and am pleased with its performance. Happy with their customer service as I had a sensor go out a month or so after their warranty ran out. They sent me a new sensor free of charge which I thought was pretty nice. I take the sensors off when not in use and remove the batteries.

I've been running the Tymate TM7 for about two years. Readings are accurate even now after close on 10,000 miles.

For $29, I'm happy. Reads temperatures, and has a USB A port as well
