I can't remember on my 13, if it was this way, but on my 18 the trailer doesn't show until I shift out of Park. I'd have to check but I think it's actually when I apply the brake to shift.

i connected my trailer, and followed the instructions and my truck now knows my trailer by its name. I have 90+K on this truck, and have pulled several borrowed trailers, and didn't know about this feature

Glad it worked.

Remember when you disconnect the trai!er to turn it off, or mileage will accumulate on the trailer.

Ford must have modified the software between '13 and '19. Mine sees and posts a "trailer disconnected" message and stops recording trailer miles.

Yes.

Also a trailer without brakes doesn't register without manual intervention. He and I have the same trucks, and trailers without brakes.

That must have also changed. '19 Truck knows when it's the snowmobile trailer(4 wire) or the camper (7 wire). whether connected or disconnected. Don't need to do anything manually after the initial setup

If I have not named or inputted any info on my trailer will it still log mileage as a generic trailer usage.
I was not aware there was an option to have this info kept in the system.

I guess I will look to see if my trailer is disconnected. Again, so much to learn, so little time.

Welcome to the club, i have 90,450 miles and didn't know to do this.

Also I had to intervene manually to disconnect the trailer, so glad I saw to do that.
