So the trailer wasn't working fine for aftermarket TBC...

I had the same message with a used camper I bought. Turned out the previous owner had left it plugged into the shore power with the breakaway switch engaged and the brakes applied. All the brake coils had failed from staying hot for weeks. Had to replace all the brake assemblies. That was cheaper than the parts and labor required to replace just the coils.

This is my problem:
I have no lights and no brakes. Trailer was serviced today and is fine. Mechanic says I have no power to my 'hitch' connection
Plus during manual activation using the manual control lever without a trailer connected (accompanied by a single chime)
Display says Trailer Disconnected
The post above says :an intermittent open circuit occurs in the vehicle wiring from the TBC module to the 7-pin trailer connector or the trailer wiring
Should I check the half dozen fuses under the hood and one in passenger side?
