Default Trailer Hitch Hole Pattern

On my past two vehicles, my stupid [school] hitch cover easing installed using the hitch pin. With my new F150, the Hitch pin fits; however, the cover sticks out about 1/2.

Is there any reason the Hitch hole pattern would be different on my Ford? Does it affect installing the ball into the receiver?

On my old hitches, the Hitch pin holes were closer to 2.5 inches from the edge of the Hitch.

My F150 and my wife's Armada are about an inch different.
I would assume it is just the way they are manufactured.
We tow the same trailer with both vehicles.
I have recently bought a new head and set up the Armada so I don't have to change the set up in order to use a different vehicle.
Shouldn't be any problem for you.
